Louisville Slugger Prime H359 Birch

That closeup of the trademark shows exactly what Hamilton is swinging, down to the Bible verse.  Its a Birch H359 named after Hamilton’s batting title/MVP season of 2010 when he hit .359 for the Rangers.  The H359 is available in other woods, but not Birch, though Louisville is selling Birch in a C271, I13, and C243 on

Franklin CFX Pro in Angels Colorways

Franklin sent us a great shot of one of Hamilton’s exclusive colorways of the CFX Pro that we (oddly enough) have not seen him wear this year.

We’ve seen him in combinations of red/grey (2 photos above) and these grey/grey/reds as well:

None of these are available, but there are plenty of color choices at the link above.

Nike Air Huarache 2K4 in Angels Colorways

Hamilton is one of the only guys we’ve seen with custom colorways on the 2K4 (Kemp gets the star treatment, too).  Though Hamilton’s colorways aren’t available, there’s a nice selection at the link above.

Damn those are fresh.

Here’s some info on why many players use this hitting aid.  I see it on a lot of guys’ thumbs.

EBI Elbow Guard

Hamilton has been wearing this elbow guard forever.  He actually shares it with fellow big bopper Chris Davis (the Rangers team doctor is probably the guy responsible).  Unfortunately, these are nowhere to be found.

Hamilton calls his A2000 JH32-GM his “puppy.”

We all know the intimate relationship we have with our gloves.  It, literally, is an extension of yourself, so there’s no wonder why ballplayers have such an affection for their glove.  Josh Hamilton is no different.  These interviews with Josh are just too good not to share:

Josh’s “puppy” is a Wilson A2000 JH32-GM model, and like a growing puppy, it’s got a heck of an appetite.  Hamilton is what scouts call 5-tool.  Rarely does a player come along with his type of power that can patrol center field like Hamilton can.  He also has a rifle for an arm (he threw 95 mph off the mound in high school) and his mechanics from the outfield are flawless (as seen in the video above).

On those sweltering summer days in Arlington, Texas, Hamilton shields the glare with a pair of white Kaenon Hard Kore sunglasses.

He might rotate that in, but lately we’ve seen the Louisville Slugger. We’re in the process of updating everybody. Thanks for checking the site out.

That video is from June 2011. Those are the Oakley Flak Jacket style if you are interested in the ones in the video. The sunglasses he wears for games are the Kaenon Hard Kore that you see in the feature.

The brand is EBI but info on the company or the guard were very obscure so I didn’t add it to the profile.

  4. thanks. also, any take on what brand of wrist tape josh uses?

He, like most players, uses self stick tape. It only sticks to its self, not to skin. I’ve been using it for years because I’m allergic to the adhesives they use on tape, band aids, etc. You can buy it at Dicks or other “higher end” sporting good stores. Cramer make some as well. Walgreens will carry it but its flesh tone, probably not what you are looking for. Hope this helps.

Hamilton has an exclusive bat now with Louisville Slugger. The model number is H359 which was his batting average the year he won the AL MVP is what I was told. His name is also his signture instead of block letters. This bat is new to just this year.

OK, and did someone there tell you? I’m looking for your source–a link, a website, etc–because I’m pretty confident his bat is an I13 and if it isn’t I’d want to see where you heard this before I posted it. Thanks again.

    • Guys show what he really has in the home screen his elbow thing, his REAL gloves and all that stuff

Yes the bat is an I13 but they changed the model number to H359 just for his exclusive bat. On the texas rangers shop website they are now offering a replica of the bat I am talking about.

  11. We really enjoy the concept, look and may aspects of the WPW website. Our question is regarding the PROHITTER batting aid which WPW makes reference to on some of the MLB players you profile on WPW that use PROHITTER, such as Carlos Beltran and Adrian Gonzalez to name two of the four we noted. Yet with other MLB players you profile on WPW such as Josh Hamilton, Robinson Cano, Nelson Cruz, and Jacoby Ellsbury, that also bat with PROHITTER and in fact in every MLB at bat for many years, with those player profiles WPW makes no reference to PROHITTER.

Please note in the pictures on the WPW website profiling, Jacoby Ellsbury, Josh Hamilton and Robinson Cano, all of which have PROHITTER on their left thumbs, yet no reference is made to PROHITTER in those WPW MLB player profiles. Are question is was not mentioning PROHITTER in those other WPW player profiles an oversight?

Any additional information you may desire regarding PROHITTER, please feel free to ask us via an email to me and I will be happy to reply.

    Thank you, Jeff Sanders
